FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) _ Investors who want to build a full-scale replica of Noah’s Ark say it would attract 1.6 million tourists a year and create 900 permanent jobs in Williamstown, Ky.

Mike Zovath, co-founder of the Answers in Genesis ministry that opened the Creation Museum three years ago, says the ark would be part of a theme park that also includes a replica of the tower of Babel.

Gov. Steve Beshear says he favors providing tax incentives to encourage investors to move ahead with the Ark Encounter project.

Barry Lynn, executive director of Americans United for Separation of Church and State, objects, saying “the government should not be giving tax incentives for religious projects.”

But American Civil Liberties Union of Kentucky staff attorney Bill Sharp says he doesn’t see any constitutional problem with the state granting tax exemptions for the project.

LAHORE, Pakistan (AP) _ A lawyer says a Pakistani court has barred the country’s president from pardoning a Christian woman sentenced to death for blasphemy until it rules on her appeal.

The lawyer says the Lahore High Court’s chief justice issued the order Monday.

Pakistan’s minister for Minority Affairs has said that President Asif Ali Zardari plans to give the court a chance to hear the appeal in the case of Asia (AH’-see-ah) Bibi.

He said Zardari would pardon Bibi if the appeal was delayed.

Bibi’s case prompted an appeal from Pope Benedict XVI after the mother of five was sentenced to death for insulting Islam’s Prophet Mohammed. Her family says she was falsely accused over a personal dispute.

WASHINGTON D.C. (thehill.com) – President Obama said praying and reading the Bible are part of his everyday life. Speaking with Barbara Walters, Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama also described how they involve their daughters in daily prayer. “Michelle and I have not only benefited from our prayer life, but I think the girls have too…We say grace before we eat dinner every night. We take turns.”

When asked why so many Americans deny that he is a Christian, the President blamed the internet. “You know, the Internet has a powerful effect these days, and so, the way rumors can take on a life of their own ends up being very powerful.”

UNDATED (FR) – Prison Fellowship’s Angel Tree project will make Christmas brighter for the children of prisoners. Mark Early, vice president of Prison Fellowship, says this year 400,000 children will receive a gift in the name of their parents and with a message from their parent.

Children of prisoners are more likely to go to prison than any other group of children in the United States. And Angel Tree hopes to help these parents build bridges to their children while they are in prison. Angel tree gifts are collected by churches or people can give on line at angeltree.org.

BETHLEHEM, West Bank (AP) _ The Christmas season is under way in the West Bank city of Bethlehem, where the Bible says Jesus Christ was born.

Palestinian Muslims as well as Christians participated in a festive parade over the weekend.

Christians make up only a small percentage of Israelis and Palestinians in the Holy Land.

Bethlehem is ringed on three sides by a barrier which Israel says is meant to keep out Palestinian militants. A large gray wall separates it from nearby Jerusalem and tourists entering Bethlehem must pass through a military checkpoint with barbed wire and watchtowers.

Israeli and Palestinian officials have worked closely in recent years, however, to coordinate the movement of pilgrims.

BOONE, N.C. (AP) _ The Rev. Franklin Graham says he’s asked the U.S. government to airlift rehydration fluids to Haiti to treat victims of a rapidly spreading cholera epidemic.

Graham, whose Samaritan’s Purse ministry has almost 300 workers in Haiti, told KTIS radio that more than 500,000 Haitians could be infected and tens of thousands could die unless supplies arrive quickly.

Graham says Haiti’s government is so corrupt that he believes the U.S. military should take control.

On the other side of the world, Graham fears that North Korea’s artillery attack on a South Korean island could ignite a devastating conflict that sucks in the United States and Korea’s neighbors.

Graham, who has been to North Korea, says “It’s almost like they’re trying to start a war.”

John Ashmen says 275 gospel rescue missions nationwide are preparing to serve 500,000 Thanksgiving dinners to the homeless and needy, and could use some help.

Ashmen says volunteers are always appreciated, and many missions need more turkeys donated, too.

He suggests Christians should know that it’s a holiday for both thanks and giving.

ISLAMABAD (AP) _ A Pakistani Christian woman sentenced to death for blasphemy against Islam is innocent and should be pardoned and freed, according to a government minister investigating the case.

The sentence against Asia Bibi has called new attention to Pakistan’s blasphemy law, which critics say is used to persecute minorities, fan religious extremism and settle personal vendettas.

Bibi, a 45-year-old mother of five, has already spent 18 months in jail.

A court sentenced her Nov. 8 to hang after convicting her of insulting Islam’s Prophet Muhammad.

She says she was falsely accused by a group of Muslim women in her village.

Pope Benedict XVI appealed last week for Bibi’s release, and Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari asked for a review of the facts of the case, raising the possibility of a presidential pardon.
